| CONTENT CHANNEL MANAGER, CARIBBEAN IDEAS LTD. |
| Do you have the goal orientation of a salesman? A hawk's attention to detail? The eye for quality of an art buyer? The future vision of an architect? |
 |
If you answered yes to all of the above, and have a background in journalism or communication Caribbean Ideas Limited wants to talk with YOU.
We are an early-stage company headquartered in Trinidad & Tobago, with the entire Caribbean world (in and out of the Caribbean) as our target market. We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is extremely Internet and computer savvy, has communications experience and possesses unlimited personal and professional potential.
Caribbean Ideas Limited was started by 3 Caribbean nationals with global and local experience spanning the Internet and Online Advertising industry, Strategy Consulting, Private Equity and Corporate Communications for pan-Caribbean corporations. Our vision is simple: Become a market leader in the nascent emerging-media space in the Caribbean over the course of the next 5 years.
To do that we have established 2 lines of business:
- Caribbean Ideas Online:
- This division aims to build the Caribbean's most recognizable Internet brands, starting with the recent public beta launch of Caribbeanaxis.com on May 1st (http://www.caribbeanaxis.com) and more sites to come!
- We care about connecting the Caribbean world and people interested in the Caribbean around information, communities and transactions.
- Caribbean Ideas Emerging Media Solutions:
- Large and small Caribbean companies have a unique opportunity to grasp the power of the Internet to build deeper relationships with their existing companies and take their products and services to new customers. We will also help forward-thinking businesses use the web and emerging media to drive bottom line results
This position will reside in the Caribbean Ideas Online division and will report to the Vice President of Content & Media Development. To achieve success, the key competencies identified will help you.
- An architect's vision:
- You will establish a vision for the ongoing evolution of Caribbean Axis news and business-oriented content that is accurate, easy to consume and engaging for Caribbean professionals and students around the world. Your vision will encompass editorial guidelines, tone / voice and the ideal balance of professional and user-generated content
- An art buyer's eye for quality:
- You will work closely with the marketing team to develop insight into the information needs of our target audiences and use that insight to refine your talent for identifying high quality content, and thought provoking professional and amateur writers to be part of the Caribbean Axis Contributor Network.
- Your understanding of customer needs and information architecture and web design will help you recommend features designed to continually enhance the content consumption experience on our sites.
- A salesman's goal orientation:
- You will be comfortable managing your channel like a salesman, maintaining a laser focus on delivering an ever-increasing quantity of interesting articles and content in line with your monthly content delivery quota.
- You will identify the best sources for the kind of content that will provide high value to consumers of Caribbean Axis News & Business content, and will maintain an ongoing database of existing and emerging sources across online and offline publications, blogs, writers and more.
- You will be an excellent relationship manager for existing content partners, and rigorously track your progress in closing new target partners and writers.
- A hawk's attention to detail.
- You will establish the ideal workflow for uploading and editing the content that you have sourced from partners and freelancers. You will then manage this process on a daily basis to keep your channel constantly updated with fresh content.
- You will be comfortable running your channel like a mini-business, including tracking key metrics, creating detailed reports and distributing or presenting those reports to the leadership of company
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to get in at the ground floor of a start-up business, and gives you an opportunity to have an immense impact on a small business that is working to do something that has not been done successfully before in the Caribbean region.
